We believe that cultural understanding is the foundation of sustainable love. Sharing a frame of reference (about family, food, traditions, identity and humor) creates a bond that cannot be explained away. Finding a partner who knows what sevdalinka is, who understands why Sunday lunch lasts three hours, who shares your pride in where you come from: these are not superficial details. That is the essence of a relationship that really works.

BlknMatch was founded by young Balkans with a simple observation: general dating apps lack the cultural layers that matter to us. You cannot filter whether someone shares your background, understands your traditions or speaks the same language. You won't find a common cultural code in a sea of profiles without context.
The idea for BlknMatch was born in 2024, out of the need for a platform that understands what it means to be Balkan: regardless of whether you live in Belgrade, Gothenburg, London or Melbourne. What started as a project to solve a personal problem has grown into a community with thousands of users from all over the world.
We're still early in our journey, but we're proud of the community we've built, and determined to keep the platform authentic, safe, and culturally relevant to anyone with Balkan roots.
Your security is our highest priority. We actively review profiles, offer easy reporting tools and have zero tolerance for harassment, fake profiles and fraud. Security is built into the platform's design, from how we handle data to how conversations work.
BlknMatch is not designed for superficial swipes. We want you to find someone you can really build a life with. It requires authenticity: in how you present yourself, in how you communicate and in what you're looking for. We encourage honesty over perfection.
