Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, mobile phone or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used for websites to work efficiently and to provide the owners of the website with information about how it is being used.

Cookies can be temporary (session cookies), which are deleted when you close your browser, or permanent (persistent cookies), which are stored on your device until they expire or you delete them manually. They can also be first-party cookies (set by BlknMatch) or third-party cookies (set by external services we integrate).

2. Why do we use cookies?

BlknMatch uses cookies for several reasons:

  • Necessary cookies: For the platform to function properly: login, session management and security functions.
  • Performance Cookies: To understand how visitors use BlknMatch and improve performance.
  • Functionality cookies: To remember your preferences, such as language setting and dark/light mode.
  • Advertising cookies: To deliver relevant ads and measure their effectiveness (see section on Google AdSense below).

3. Which cookies do we use?

Below we describe the most important categories of cookies on BlknMatch:

3.1 Necessary cookies

These cookies are absolutely necessary for the website to function. They include cookies for authentication (to keep you logged in), CSRF protection (to prevent unauthorized access) and session management. Without these cookies, BlknMatch cannot provide the services you requested.

3.2 Analytics cookies

We may use tools such as Google Analytics to collect anonymous statistics about how visitors use our platform - which pages are most popular, how long visits last and where the traffic comes from. This data helps us improve the user experience. All data is aggregated and anonymous.

3.3 Google AdSense Cookies

BlknMatch uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google AdSense places cookies on your device in order to deliver ads that are relevant to your interests. Google may use information about your visits to BlknMatch and other websites to display customized ads.

The cookies that Google AdSense uses include, among other things:

  • DoubleClick cookies: Used by Google to customize ads based on your interests.
  • Conversion tracking: Helps advertisers measure the effectiveness of their campaigns.
  • Frequency capping: Limits the number of times you see the same ad.

You can read more about how Google uses data on Google Ad Privacy Policy.

4. Third party cookies

In addition to Google AdSense, the following third-party services may set cookies when you use BlknMatch:

  • Cloudinary: For image delivery and optimization of profile images.
  • Stripes: For secure payment processing (premium subscriptions).
  • Google Analytics: For anonymous web analysis and traffic statistics.

These third-party providers have their own privacy policies and are responsible for their own cookies. We recommend that you read their respective policies for more information.

5. How do you manage your cookie settings?

You have the right to accept or decline cookies. There are several ways to deal with them:

5.1 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through the settings. You can block all cookies, block third-party cookies or delete existing cookies. Please note that if you block necessary cookies, parts of BlknMatch may stop working properly.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and website data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Cookies
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services → Cookies

5.2 Google Customized Ads

To opt-out of Google-tailored ads, you can visit Google ad settings or install the extension Google Analytics Opt-out.

6. Validity of cookies

Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies have varying validity periods, anywhere from 30 days to 2 years, depending on their purpose. Google AdSense cookies can be stored for up to 13 months in accordance with EU data protection guidelines.

7. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, technical changes or legal requirements. All updates are posted on this page with a new date. We recommend that you visit the page regularly.
